The best chance to experience the seasonal migration of Southern humpbacks is June through September, while Northern humpbacks visit the area December through April. Dolphins are present year-round, with common species being the spotted, bottlenose, common, rough-toothed and spinner varieties.

Pelagic Dolphin And Whale Watching Tour from Drake Bay-Full Day

 

This 7-hour trip takes place in the waters off the coast of the Osa Peninsula. We begin at 7:30 am with a boat ride from Colorada beach of Drake Bay to off-coast waters home to dolphins, whales and seabirds. The goal of this trip is to go much longer than the half-day trip in order to see animals with habitats further away from the coast. In addition, this trip offers the opportunity to swim with the dolphins. It must be taken into account that humpback whales visit Costa Rican waters seasonally. The best chance to experience the seasonal migration of Southern humpbacks is June through September, while Northern humpbacks visit the area December through April. Dolphins are present year round. Being common species the spotted, bottlenose, common, rough-toothed and spinner dolphins.

Dolphin and Whale Watching tour in Marino Ballena National Park, Uvita-3 to 4 hours

 

This is a 3 to 4-hour activity with 2 different starting hours. I the morning it starts at 8.30 am and finishes at 12.00 md, and in the evening from 12.30 pm to 4.00 pm. During the activity, you will be able to visit the Whale tail, Ballena Island, Ventanas beach to have a look to the caverns and do some snorkeling at Ballena Island or at the Ballena Tail or just go for a swimming if the water is not clear enough for snorkeling.

Time will also be spend on looking for humpback whales and dolphins.
